How Aalto Creates Stunning Marble Inlay Medallions

Every home is unique, and each marble medallion project we work on is created with an individualized approach. We start each medallion design with a consultation where our designers learn more about your tastes and design aspirations. Using your personal aesthetics, the architecture and character of your home and our collection of traditional and contemporary medallion styles, our designers then create a rough layout of the marble inlay medallion design, determining the density and scale of the inlay. Once the basic medallion rendering is approved, we then develop a detailed project proposal and budget for your approval.

After the initial design schemes and budget have been approved, our team then begins a more detailed design and creation process, including:

  • Intricate renderings: With our rough design plans and specific client guidance, our designers work to create a more detailed rendering of the marble medallion inlay, providing final material option samples and finalizing the color scheme, design size selection and most intricate details. This line art is used in later processes to direct our waterjet machinery when cutting individual pieces of stone. By creating a detailed, precise rendering, we’re able to give achieve the finest details for your medallion, such as inlaid scrolls, vines, leaves and flora.
  • Marble medallion creation: For the most precise and detailed marble medallions, Aalto utilizes the most state-of-the-art machinery and tools available — waterjet cutting. With incredibly powerful and focused pressurized water, we’re able to accurately slice marble and other high-end stone into the most ornate shapes and designs.
  • Shipping and installation: After every piece of your marble inlay medallion has been shaped and cut, our team assembles the medallion to ensure every part is in pristine condition. We’ll ship the inlay to you where you can then work with your the local stone installer or one of our installation professional partners to complete the process.
